ARATULA

Aratula is located at the bottom of Cunninghams Gap. It is about a 55km drive from Ipswich and 90km from Brisbane. Cunninghams Gap is located to the west of Aratula while Warril Creek is also very close by.

The town is very scenic since it is a gateway to surrounding mountains and is tucked away in the foothills of the Great Dividing Range. In the nearby Reynolds Creek there have been gemstones found including jasper, agate, chalcedony and petrified wood.

The town has a pub and caravan park located off the highway. Aratula also has a variety of businesses in town on the highway that service locals and passing traffic including a bakery, cafes, service stations, school, etc. The Aratula Primary Schoolwhich was founded in 1918 was originally called Carters Gate.
